Konnichiwa~! I'm sort of new to the lolita scene - fell in love with the fashion style at Elf Fantasy Fair in Haarzuilens this year, and have been researching & drooling over all the beautiful clothing and make up. uwu I'd like to be able to dress this way myself, but as I am still in high school it would not be accepted - should I wait 3 more years until I've graduated, or pursue my dreams some other way? Arigatou! Love, Jennifer

Hello Jennifer!

Nice to meet you. ^_^  You should follow your heart. There are always possibilities if you really want to wear lolita. When I started to wear lolita I was also in high school. I dressed up in lolita a few times when I went to school. I didn’t feel comfortable in it because of many reasons. Soon I decided to wear lolita only for special occasions. For example at events and lolita meetings.

There are girls I’ve met who wear lolita daily at school, but there aren’t many of them. It’s possible, but I don’t think it’s easy… Most of the lolitas don’t wear it every day. There are only about ten lolitas in the Netherlands who wear it more times in a week or daily. Yet I don’t think you should wait with wearing lolita until you’re graduated. There is another way. Maybe you can wear lolita in the weekends or you can join the Dutch lolita community? When you join the community you will be able to go to lolita meetings. That’s another opportunity to wear lolita without worrying about being accepted because of your clothes.

Please do what makes you happy! Feel free to ask me anything if you have more questions. I can send you the facebook link of the Dutch lolita fb page in a private message if you want to. :)

Best wishes,

Anne

Two weeks ago our comm had a fairy tale themed meet so I decided it was time to bust out my Chess Story dress again.

Since the illustrations on the dress depict the story of Cinderella I thought I’d royal it up with one of those echarpe things and a sceptre, I want a bigger one though. And even though a veil isn’t really royal I liked the look of it so on my head it went. That day I learned that those heart mules from Dream V are the worst to walk in and that I absolutely need a crown for this coord.

Jsk: Chess Story
Echarpe: Chess Story
Headbow: Chess Story
Veil: Attached some tule to a Chess Story flower haircomb
Blouse: random taobao shop
Tights: Bijenkorf
Shoes: Dream V
Bag: Baby the Stars Shine Bright
Sceptre: Etsy

Last two pictures are taken by dear friend Anne. The first one is taken by a lovely lolita I met that day and I don’t know if she has a tumblr so I can properly credit her
